This fondue set looks good and elegant and works well. But, you can't use the pot to prepare your cheese fondue. I discovered this, when reading the instructions: you have to prepare your fondue separately. For some persons this might be ok, and it also justifies the much lower price than a true fondue pot. However, it would be good to have this information when buying the set. It is not what you want to buy, if you look forward to having a "true" cheese fondue experience.

We are avid fonduers and have many pots. This one is by far our favorite. It's a little too big for a desert fondue unless you're making a big recipe for a lot of people (the bottom is so wide, a small batch would burn chocolate or caramel), but it works well for cheese and oil. You cannot put the pot on the stove, which bothers some people, however it is not hard to get the cheese or oil hot and ready to eat in the pot over flame, so we haven't been bothered (it takes about 10 minutes to get from the fridge to perfect eating temperature for cheese over the fire).

I'm not sure what everyone is talking about. I make my fondue right in the pot on the stove. In fact a lot of times we make it on the stove AND eat it off the stove. Easy to use, fun to use and works great!!
